Model expands during drained plastic analysis??

Question

Greetings, 
 
 I am building a model to simulate construction of an upstream raised embankment, for some reason the model expands when I apply new lifts? 
 The yellow material is modeled with MC and the green material is modeled with HSS. A plastic drained analysis is being run, and new lifts are modeled using the global water level. I have ignore suction turned on.

 It is difficult to judge what the soil response is based on the screenshot and the information shared. This can be related to the boundary conditions applied, the groundwater flow being run, the loading procedure, the initial conditions and more.
