 I modeled a “Piled Raft Foundation” on “Saturated Soft Clay” soil (Mohr - Coulomb); 
 under combined loading (Uplift “510 kN” + Lateral “130kN”).

&lt;p&gt;The plate is connected to the surrounding soil via the interface element. Therefore you should expect that depending on the level of bondage that the soil would follow the movement of the structure.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Note that the plot you shared shows a deformation in millimetres and the plot is scaled up 500 times.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;div style="clear:both;"&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</description></item></channel></rss>
