Renaming the phases generated by Tunnel Generator

Hi,

Is there is a quick way to rename the Phases generated by the Tunnel application in Plaxis 3D?

thanks

  • Hi Stefanos,

Actually I was looking to rename the Phases, not the steps.  The problem i have where I got 3 pilot tunnels followed by 3 enlargements. So total phases (generated through tunnel advancement tool) are over 150.  I would like to rename the Phase whether it belongs to pilot tunnel 1, 2 or 3, just for more clarification when you are viewing the results.

    Hope this make sense.

  • Hello Nadeem,

    Apologies for my slow reaction.

If I understand you want to rename the Phase identification when one of the Tunnels are to be advancing, right?

The tunnel designer does not control the names of the phases. When you advance a step, PLAXIS simply runs a command like the one below:
    advance Tunnel_1 Phase_5

I can imagine if you want to rename Phase_5 to something meaningful and related to Tunnel_1 you could use a Python script that can know which tunnel you want to advance, which phase this will take place and after (or before) the advancement is done, to rename the Phase to a different name.

I note that the command in PLAXIS for this is (example):

    set Phase_5.Identification "Tunnel_1_advancement_Step_3"
