I am working with PLAXIS2d 2019 and PLAXIS3d 2018 and I want to use the PM4sand constitutive model.
I saw that with the release of PLAXIS CONNECT 2020 the model is already in the PLAXIS software.(communities.bentley.com/.../udsm-pm4sand)
I suppose in our case we have to install a dll file. However, I cannot find the dll at your site.
Could you may help me with this. Do you have any instructions or maybe do you have the dll file.
Thank you in advance.
Hello Konstantine,
You can request the PM4SAND DLL file via a service request:

Dear Stefanos,
Thank you for your answer. We received the pm4sand64.dll and placed it in the usdm folder of the PLAXIS 2D 2019 version.
However, we receive an error when we try to run the SoilTest application:
''There was an error during the execution of the test.''
''Error reading (a part of) the test results.''
We also paste the dll in the PLAXIS general folder according to the recommendation:
https://communities.bentley.com/products/geotech-analysis/w/plaxis-soilvision-wiki/45706/user-defined-soil-model-dll-not-recognized-in-plaxis-2d-ae-soiltest
But the problem remains.
Do you have any recommendation?
Best regards,
Konstantinos Kassas
Dear Konstantine,
Any UDSM should be placed in the udsm folder in the installation directory. The article you posted is an old one and about a version from 2014 (2D AE) which is no longer an issue in the newer versions.
An important item is what is the version of the DLL you have. The one we distributed mentions the Product version: 2018.1.0.0.c70ce.....8723Do you have the same?
Also what exactly are you running in SoilTest? Can you share more details? As I could run a simple analysis but I do not know what configuration you have.
Dear Stefane,
The file is installed in the USDM folder. The file has been downloaded by PLAXIS connect and the name is pm4sand64.dll Version 22.0.01733.
The soil test does not work for any type of test and the error is:
You mentioned before that you are working with PLAXIS 2D 2019 and PLAXIS 3D 2018, yet you try to use the PM4SAND DLL from our latest version (V22). These are not compatible as you can imagine.
If you upgrade to PLAXIS CONNECT Edition V22, then yes, that should work.
Again, you can request the PM4SAND DLL file for the version you are using via a service request:
