Hi Plaxis Users,
I have a point cloud of pore pressure obtained from another program/analysis that I want to use in PLAXIS 2D.
Do you know what would be the best way to do it?
Thanks!
Dear James,
In Flow conditions (PLAXIS Input) you can import water levels. You can use a simple text file for this, but there are more options available:
Thanks Stefanos,
I think for water levels it's good, but can we import 2d point cloud of pore pressure as well?
PLAXIS typically is the one that performs the groundwater flow analysis, therefore the pore pressure distribution is a calculation result.
In order to "force" a specific pore pressure distribution, you can use water levels, e.g., global and/or custom or groundwater flow boundary conditions, and select the Phreatic pore pressure calculation type in the Phases window.
Currently, it is not possible to import a pore pressure distribution to PLAXIS. However, I have passed on this request to our development team for future consideration. Thank you!
