Hi all,
Is it possible to array a surface through a polycurve direction?
Thanks!
Yes, we have defined an specific material only for tunnel interface joints.
Out of curiosity: How do you plan to make concrete joints for the tunnel modelled with volume elements? I can only imagine interface with custom material defined.
I would also choose to use CAD software for this as it is easier to create the whole geometry there and then import it in PLAXIS.
If you transfer the orthogonal surfaces (acting on the normal to the trajectory, if you can say that) in PLAXIS then I would make them larger than the tunnel so that the intersection is ensured when triggered.
I agree that overall having a 3D trajectory path via the tunnel designer will add value to the tool and it deserves to be considered in future implementations. I am sure that more would benefit from this feature, too.
Thanks Stefanos,
Perfect. In this situation, how do you recommend to create "slices" along the tunnel? I guess that this only might be done with ortogonal planes also created with CAD file and intersected with extruded section. I suggest that this could be a good improvement for tunnel designer tool.
Dear Francesc,
I confirm that with the Tunnel Designer you can only handle trajectories on a plane. Therefore the alternative is to import the trajectory as a polycurve in Structures mode (3D path is possible), create the cross-section surface and extrude this along this path (trajectory).
