&lt;p&gt;I would strongly advise you to check our Manuals, Reference and Tutorials to better understand about Rinter.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;In short, this is a generic factor to reduce both the strength and the stiffness of the interfaces. This value should not be a parameter for which the design can drastically change. This is a rough way of reducting strength and stiffness. This depends on the materials you have. In principle concrete with clay material has a completely different relative behaviour compared to sand or granular material.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;If changes in the Rinter highly affect the analyses you perform you should choose to create a dedicated material for the interface behaviour and switch the option to Custom as shown below.
