How to input permeability for smear zone around PVD in plaxis 2D v21?
Dear Mahabub,
PLAXIS offers the possibility to provide permeability values per direction for the soil (or rock). The exact values are to be provided by the geotechnical engineer who should know the expected behaviour of the PVDs.
Note that since in PLAXIS 2D you have a plane strain model, you may need to calibrate your model according to the results you expect, based on experience and engineering judgement.
In any case, maybe another geotechnical engineer following our Forum can provide any additional information from their own experience.

Thanks for your response. I didn't get my answer.
Paper that u mentioned, I had already read, modeled it, and also joined the webinar regarding this.
In this paper, there is also equation (2) for the calculation of smear zone permeability from soil layer permeability and Table 4 contains kh (permeability of smear zone). But I didn't find any option in plaxis 2D for input this permeability of the smear zone. There exists only soil layer permeability.
Many reputed journals regarding PVD analyses by Plaxis 2D/3D, smear zone permeability also mentioned. But I didn't find how to input this value.
I have solved my problem.
Can you tell me how you solved it? It will be really helpful. I am trying to input varying permeability in the radial direction from the line drain and currently is not able to do so.
