Hello,
This is a very basic question pertaining to Debonding of Piles.
Type of Pile: RC Bored Pile
Size of Pile: 300mm Circular
Total Embedment Length: 42m
Total debonded length: First 30m
Rest of the length 12m is not debonded.
What is the realistic way to model such a Pile in Plaxis 2D if the Piles are modelled as Embedded beam rows and how can the Rinter value be modelled in Plaxis 2D?
Thank you in advance.
For the unbonded length you can use the node-to-node anchor and for the bonded length you can use the embedded beam. Node-to-node anchors form a spring connection between two geometry points. The input for the node-to-node anchor is its axial stiffness EA.
Tutorial 3 in the PLAXIS 2D Tutorial Manual uses a combination of node-to-node anchors and embedded beams as ground anchors.
Node-to-node anchors are explained in the following wiki article:communities.bentley.com/.../node-to-node-anchors-as-an-alternative-for-fixed-end-anchors
