Hello
I m doing monte carlo simulations in python scripting to plaxis (2D V22 )for transient seepage analysis in embankment dams to find effect of permeabilty changes. I m using a workstaiton with 64gb ram and ssd harddisk.
But analysis take one and half day and more.
how can I do this fast?
thank you.
Dear Arife,
PLAXIS API uses Python as a programming language. This means that you can take advantage of any Python modules to perform a monte carlo simulation.
I would recommend you first search online for Python modules that can assist you with that, then you can install them (https://communities.bentley.com/products/geotech-analysis/w/plaxis-soilvision-wiki/51822/how-to-install-additional-python-modules-in-plaxis) and make sure you pass the right information to PLAXIS and the module.
You mention that one analysis takes a long time. Is that due to Python coding or due to PLAXIS?
For Python, you may need to optimize your code. For PLAXIS, I would recommend investigating why the calculation takes long. Is it due to the large number of elements? Is it due to plasticity? These are the first questions one has to answer to better understand what is going on.
Thank you Mr. Stefanos,
I try to find why the calculation takes long. I guess the problem result from plaxis, probably plasticity.
Thank you agaiın
