Dear All,
I was watching the "Coffee Corner: Geotechnical Analysis - Fundamentals of Designing with Geosynthetics in PLAXIS". When modelling MSE walls, in the construction stages, when activating the geogrids and backfill layers, are we not supposed to reset the displacements to zero, because after the compaction process, those displacements are assumed to be complete for that phase?
Dear Jamal,
Resetting displacements to zero is a feature to simply reset the counter of the already recorded deformations to zero.
We have an article describing it in detail: https://communities.bentley.com/products/geotech-analysis/w/plaxis-soilvision-wiki/46014/how-does-reset-displacements-to-zero-work
Note that if you are interested in deformations per phase we have the relevant results, too, under the deformations menu.
