I want to ask about error code 34. I'm currently modeling soil improvement using vacuum consolidation, but when I'm calculating error code 34, how do I solve the error regarding the ultimate state not reached in groundwater flow analysis?

RE: Groundwater flow analysis

ohh i see. thank you for your answer mr Vasileios Basas

RE: Groundwater flow analysis

Hi Randy,

Error 34 is related to a convergence issue during flow calculations. However, it is rather difficult to tell what may have caused this error without checking the project first. A few things to check are the following:

Ensure that the permeabilities of adjacent soils are not significantly different in magnitude (ratio of permeabilities > 10^5). Sometimes, a big difference in the magnitudes of permeabilities for different materials could prove problematic for numerical convergence.

Please make sure that your soil polygons are properly connected. Any gaps between adjacent soil polygons are essentially water pockets exerting pressure.

Make sure that interfaces are correctly set up. Activating or deactivating interfaces affects the permeability of the structural elements that they are assigned.

Ensure that the groundwater flow boundaries are correctly set.
