Is it necessary to give value of weight of element in PLAXIS 2D?

I am using plate element in PLAXIS 2D model . is it necessary to give the value of weight of plate in general properties tab?

 If you want to account for the weight of the plate, then you should also specify its unit weight (w). Otherwise, if left blank, the plate is considered weightless.

 I would advise you to carefully inspect your Output results after running the analysis and evaluate whether this approach is acceptable.
