Earthquake analysis (Interface)

Question

Hello Everyone, 
 
 I know in PLAXIS , when we do an earthquake analysis we define interface boundaries along the side and bottom boundaries . IF I do the same in PLAXIS #D, should I do the same, Please advise.

Hello Faisal, 
 If you mean in both PLAXIS 2D and PLAXIS 3D, yes, the reasons applied are the same, so with free-field and compliant base, you need to add interfaces, which should be deactivated though.
