Hello.
I am new to PLAXIS 3d V21. I have been learning PLAXIS 3D V20 which seemed to be much simpler than the current V21.
I wanted to design a shallow footing setting on the ground surface. I want to measure the bearing capacity of the ground and the settlement as well as the long-term consolidation. I also wants to observe the changes in pore pressure or be able to change the pore pressure myself.
and I have no Idea from where do i start. CAN someone help me please.
I have tried to USE the V21 but seemed to be difficult to understand. I checked the help but nothing is talking about the footings or bearing capacity. did i pick the wrong software???
Dear Walid,
I think you are confusing two different products:
Here you can find a link to access Software Downloads for PLAXIS 3D (FEM):https://communities.bentley.com/products/geotech-analysis/w/wiki/42503/plaxis-software-downloads
Here you find a link to access Software Downloads for PLAXIS 3D LE:https://communities.bentley.com/products/geotech-analysis/w/wiki/52935/plaxis-le-software-downloads
I can reassure you that PLAXIS 3D (finite element solution) has not changed much between V20 and V21 causing confusion with creating a simple model. You can read the changes in our Released Notes: https://communities.bentley.com/products/geotech-analysis/w/wiki/52258/plaxis-3d-ce-v21-00-01-release-notes
Thanks Stefanos..
That explains it.
But the PLAXIS 3D does not appear in the student server for downloads? do you know if there is any way to have a free version of it?
Hello Walid,
PLAXIS 3D finite element modelling software is not distributed via the StudentServer.
You will need an Academic license to work with the PLAXIS 3D application (same for PLAXIS 2D, too).
