error: Embedded beam as grout body must have one end connected to exactly one node-to-node anchor.

Question

I am trying to model a soil nail reinforced cut slope according to the steps in this tutorial. https://communities.bentley.com/products/geotech-analysis/w/wiki/62705/slope-stability-for-road-construction-project-using-fem-and-lem-plaxis-and-geostudio 
 However I am having troubles meshing the model as there is something wrong with the embedded beams being modelled as grout body. The tutorial does not mention any other steps. 
 I had a look at the tie back wall tutorial and it shows to model grout body after node to node anchor. I'm wondering how is this different to soil nail modelling? 
 Is it possible to have an update on the slope stability for road construction project tutorial to address this problem? Thank you

Hello Bryan, 
 On the page you mentioned, you can find the full command log file at the end of the page. This can give you the commands to configure the PLAXIS 2D model. 
 Just to clarify, the Behaviour property is used in PLAXIS to quickly configure the Connection point and Connection (type) of the embedded beam. We currently offer three options: Pile, Rock bolt and Grout body. 
 All three options will automatically configure the other two properties accordingly. 
 Specifically, the Grout body option is indeed considered in the case of grouted anchors (more information in chapter 12 - Engineering Applications, Reference manual), which would release the connection from the neighbour soil nodes and allow only for structural connection to be considered in the analysis. This is to make sure the rod (node-to-node anchor) is connected to the grouted part (embedded beam). 
 In the example presented in the article, we simply leave the option to Pile or you can choose the Rock bolt behaviour. Both will consider a rigid connection with the surrounding rock (or soil) and the connection point will be the Top (by elevation) or First (by creation), respectively. 
 In any case, even if you do not change the behaviour, e.g., leave it to Pile , you can still make changes to the Connection point and Connection as you may prefer.
