Hello
Is it possible to plot a graph, similar to above, with the base resistance, skin resistance, and total resistance, against the displacement in PLAXIS 2D? I know it is possible to plot the total Fy max against the displacement, but I was curious to know if this can be split into base and skin resistance.
Thanks,
John
Hi John,
The forces and displacements of embedded beams can be plotted by selecting a post-calc stress point. See also:

After calculating your phase, you can open the Curves manager, select a stress point in the “Select points” tab and then plot the corresponding state parameter in the “Charts” tab. As you can see from the attached image, these force and displacement parameters become available for plotting. For example, you could plot the pile skin resistance with vertical displacement. Unfortunately, the base resistance is not one of the options, but you could derive it in combination with the axial force.
