Hi there,
I am trying to re-create a Pseudo-static analysis based on Fundamentals of pseudo-static analysis in PLAXIS - GeoStudio | PLAXIS Wiki - GeoStudio | PLAXIS - Bentley Communities, However, I failed to achieve the expected output in Example 1. The expected output is:
The screenshots of the instruction text are:
However, in my output, no incremental displacement can be observed (please the fig. below). By the way, I set the mesh to medium (since the text doesn't explicitly mention anything about the mesh):
I already tried to set the boundary condition and pseudostatic acceleration as shown in the screenshot in the reference (please see the fig below).
It might not be clearly visible (please inspect it from the link above/original page), but I noticed that in the screenshot the acceleration in the X direction is -0.4, while the text says it should be -0.5 (I'm not sure if there was a typo in the instruction text). Even though the screenshot does not show the boundary deformation condition, I set it just as the text describes. Therefore, my model uses the following setting for the boundary condition and pseudostatic acceleration (which I hope to be exactly what the text means):
The text also defines the "allowable tolerance to 0.001". I assumed this "tolerance" is the "tolerated error" in numerical control parameter of the "pseudo-static" plastic phase (please see the fig. below). Please correct me if this is not what the text means.
Can anyone help me in pointing the step(s) that I missed/ mistakes so that my model can't re-create the example? Your help would be most appreciated.
Kind regards,
M. Rayyan
