unknown object in log file

i have a log file (multiple) that i have exported from Plaxis using Examine Commands.

There is certainly one instance where I use the Advanced Cleaning to reduce the number of commands, but I have another instance where I do not have all the cleaning options selected, and I have the same issue.

Without doing anything else with the file, I tried reading the log commands back into plaxis using Run Commands, and in all three i get a similar error of an object not found

"_deactivate Soil_1_2 PorePressure_1_2 LayerZone_1_2 InitialPhase"

Typically it is the PorePressure object that can not be found.

Having a working model, and exporting it to get an error when directly reimporting it is causing me a few issues.

What is happening, and what can i do to fix it?

Thanks in advance

  • Hello Natalie,

Thank you for submitting a Service Request which helped me understand the reason for this issue and give you a quick reply.

For the sake of this forum, I will include my comments here, too, as more can benefit from it.

The command log you used includes commands used in an older PLAXIS version which is no longer supported. Over the course of time, we make changes, improvements and, above all, we fix bugs which was what happened here.

In the above command, you can see that the command practically tries to deactivate a soil object but two more objects are included: PorePressure_1_2 LayerZone_1_2

Those objects were incorrectly present in the command and in Staged construction, which we fixed in our newer versions.

Therefore, using a command which included objects due to a bug cannot be used in later versions in which the bug is fixed.

A general comment on this: PLAXIS supports backwards compatibility for the projects  Opening old PLAXIS project gives a popup window. What should I do?
The command line supports old (deprecated) commands for a few versions and gradually are removed. This information is covered in the articles:

    I hope that this helps.
