Mesh shape in PLAXIS

Question

Generally, the mesh shape in PLAXIS is triangle. I wonder if the mesh shape could be changed in PLAXIS, for example rectangle?

Dear Pan, 
 I assume you refer to PLAXIS 2D. 
 PLAXIS 2D supports quadratic 6-node and 4th order 15-node triangular elements, therefore it is not possible to change to rectangular meshes.

 No, that is not possible. Properties are assigned per soil area, so all the elements in the same soil area have the same properties. Hence, you would have to make the two elements separate soil areas.
