 Can anyone share some screenshots showing the soil arching effect in the retaining system or embankment pile support in Plaxis 2D for study purpose? 
 
 I did a sample model but couldn&amp;#39;t get that effect.

&lt;p&gt;Figure 65 shows the redistribution of stresses which characterises the soil arching phenomenon.&amp;nbsp;&lt;br /&gt;As the&amp;nbsp;diaphragm wall&amp;nbsp;excavation progresses, the soil around the perimeter of the excavation site becomes increasingly unsupported, and the weight of the soil causes it to arch or bridge over the unsupported area. This arching effect occurs because the soil is able to support itself in compression, allowing it to span over the unsupported area.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;div style="clear:both;"&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</description></item></channel></rss>
