Hi all,
The deep excavation is done using retaining wall, strut and waler system as shown below.
When designing this in the Plaxis 2D in plain strut, for strut N2N is used with EA and L parameters .
For the failure case, if one strut is failed one research paper provided the following method.
<= Method
So if you see the stiffness it was derived for the uniform loading and the force will come in kN/m but in the Plaxis 2D the output strut force is coming in the kN and we will input the value EA and L separately (uniaxial loading).
So my question is how to input this OSF stiffness in Plaxis 2D to get the result for the other strut when one strut is failed and what is the spacing I need to provide in the anchor material?

Thanks.
In PLAXIS 2D plane strain analysis, output of anchors (fixed-end-anchors as well as node-to-node anchors) involves only the anchor force expressed in the unit of force on the anchor (on the nodes in node-to-node anchor). There is an option to specify the anchor spacing.Please contact the author of the paper directly to understand the method that they suggest.
Noted, thanks.
