Hi,
I modeled and embedded beam row in plaxis and simulated groundwater drawdown using steady State flow analysis and setting ground water heads at the extreme boundary and excavation level.
I noticed that I was getting a little bit of heave behind the wall and was wondering if you have an explanation for why this may be happening or if it is common ?
Thanks in advance.
If water is drawn down, then soil should settle instead of heaving. I can see that your question is project-related which makes it more difficult for me to give you a straight answer.
