Error accumulation in Plaxis 2D models

Does the error in a Plaxis 2D file keep accumulating and affect the results of another Plaxis 2D file that is developed using 'save as' from the parent Plaxis 2D model? I mean if I have a Plaxis 2D file that has been progressively "saved as" over months to create several Plaxis 2D files with minor modifications in geometry every time, do the 'error files' from the parent Plaxis 2D files affects the result of the new 'saved as' Plaxis 2D model?

  • Dear Puneet,

I am not sure I understand what you mean by "error files".

A PLAXIS project can be "saved as" as many times as you want. Then, each project becomes independent.

If the original project has already calculated phases, these will be copied in the "saved as" projects, too.

But if you make geometry changes, then you need to re-mesh which means the calculation is erased and you need to re-calculate the whole project as this is considered a new analysis.
