I am modelling concrete pile foundation. But bending moment is just horizontal like this. How to make the bendjng moment vertical just like the pile?
Hi Muhammad,
The bending moment, M3 seems to be plotted on a different structural element. Are you sure you have selected your pile? You can use the "Drag a window to select structures" tool to select both vertical elements representing your pile and then press Enter to view the results.
My pile is define as soil material with concrete specification with the embeeded pile in it. So i choose concrete and soil. Is it incorrect?
This how i model the concrete with the reinforcement in it. Green is concrete pile as soil material and there is red steel reinfocement in it with embeeded beam material. I also make the negative interfaces from surface of the concrete pile. Is it correct. By the way this is plaxis 3d. Please teach me
Dear Muhammad,
From the description, I see that you mention an embedded beam. You need to use a beam material instead as there is no skin resistance to be captured in such cases. The beam element is considered to capture the behaviour of the concrete volume.
By following the general modelling approach in the article I sent you on the dummy plate (dummy beam), then you can use it to get the forces from the volume.
Again another option is to simply use the feature Structural forces on volume piles. You can read more about the Structural forces on volume piles feature in our Reference manual.
I already do the dummy plate. And for the deflection of pile because of lateral load, i select the total displacement uy. Is it correct?
For horizontal displacements in PLAXIS 3D, depending on the applied load you can check both directions, Ux and Uy.
Thank you sir.
