Hi all,I am running an analysis of many phases in which a phase may take 3 hours to complete. I understand that I can save the analysis results after an individual phase has been completed and then continue with the rest of the phases. I would like to ask if I can pause a phase calculation that has been running for some time now, save it at that point, close PLAXIS and continue the calculation later without losing the progress that was already made at this specific phase.Note: I am using PLAXIS 3D Ultimate V22Thank you,Giorgos
Hello Giorgo,
Unfortunately, that is not possible. This is mostly related to the way the calculation kernel works, specific files that are prepared at the beginning of the phase (e.g., boundary conditions) and more.
Since you know the trick to saving the results on each phase that can help when you would need to restart PLAXIS. Note that if the calculation takes too long it might be good to check for anything to simplify to make the calculation more efficient.
For instance, reduce the number of elements, especially in the far-away domain, simplify the geometry, check for an axis of symmetry to simulate a half or quarter-symmetric model, and investigate the Convergence log if something causes slow convergence.

Thank you Stefane for the immediate response!
No problem!
And if you have multiple projects, you can also use our Calculation manager for PLAXIS 2D and PLAXIS 3D
