Hello everyone, I am trying to simulate a solid volume pile subjected to lateral load with 3D Plaxis. The value of Rinter should be entered with soil properties only or for both the pile and the soil?
and another question please, when I apply the load I got a collapse soil error, however, if I apply described displacement without load it is working.

Regarding the collapse error message there are some differences in the calculation procedure when a load is applied versus when a displacement is applied and that may be the reason for the collapse error. You may want to adjust the numerical control parameters for the loading case such as to reduce the load fraction per step and/or increase the unloading steps. The interface will have both material properties assigned to it and the assignment of the interface property will be based on which material the interface is facing.
As shown in the attached graphic three soil clusters are shown. When interface properties are selected as “From adjacent soil” then the negative interface on the left will have the parameters taken from the orange material. Similarly, the negative interface on the right will have the parameters taken from the green material. The positive interface in the middle will have the parameters taken from the yellow material and the interaction at this interface between these two nodes consists of two elastic perfectly plastic springs.
