I wanted to create a graph of excess pore pressure vs radial/horizontal distance for an MCC soil model at a particular depth installed with prefabricated vertical drains. To simulate the effect of smear, transition and undisturbed zones around the PVD, I constructed 3 soil volumes with 3 different permeabilities and a surcharge of 20kN/m2 was given using another soil volume extended to a height of 1m. When the default values of deformations and groundwater flow boundary conditions were used for the consolidation analysis, all the phases ran perfectly. But when I changed these conditions, since I needed the groundwater flow to take place through the drain alone and I needed to restrict the horizontal strain to zero, the phases failed and showed Picos [204] incorrect solution, slow convergence. Can anyone help me to solve this?
These are the conditions I used.
Dear Akhil,
In our Reference manual, in the Appendix there is a dedicated chapter for the PLAXIS errors. You can search for Error 204 and find potential hints on your issue.
If you have searched and cannot identify the reason, you can submit a service request. Then, one of our support engineers can help you in detail: https://apps.bentley.com/srmanager/ProductSupport
