Excess pore water pressure is non-zero at the soil-drain interface

Question

I installed a PVD (line drain) on MCC soil model and completed a consolidation analysis. In the output, the excess pore pressure at the drain is non-zero. I have used very fine mesh for this study, taking the smallest element as possible. How can I make the excess pore pressure at drain zero? 
 In this figure, the value of excess pore pressure is around 6kN/m^2

Dear Akhil, 
 The plot you have shows the results for the soil elements in your model and it is based on the results on nodes. This means the results are extrapolated values from the stress points where the pore pressures are computed. 
 You can check directly the results of the drain(s) in a tabular form under the Stresses menu:

 Thank you for the clarification on what you want to achieve. 
 Indeed, I would also use a horizontal cross-section to create a radial distribution of the excess pore pressures around the drain. 
 The cross-section naturally crosses through the finite elements, which can explain why you do not get precisely zero but an extrapolated result. Note that the stress point at the element next to the drain will have a value very (very) close to zero but not absolute zero, as this would happen exactly on the drain element. 
 Possibly refining close to the drain would create smaller elements, thus making the cross-section results more accurate.
