I'm trying to custom connections at both sides of a beam. At the bottom side, after creating interfaces the calculation works correctly. But at the top side, even with interfaces I still get the Invalid Connection Error.

If I understand correctly, you do not have any soil nodes at the top part. This means that the custom connection cannot actually split any nodes using the interfaces, as there are no nodes at all.

Can you try creating a dummy soil volume to cover the top part, too? And in Staged construction, you can simply deactivate it, as it is not needed apart from generating those nodes you need.
