I would like to ask, if I model a temporary deep excavation using plate elements with one row of temporary steel strut's with cap, should I increase the moment of inertia of the cap according to parallel axis theorem (Steiner)?

As my colleague mentioned, when it comes to posts that involve design, we allow other geotechnical engineers as designers to comment.
My opinion on these things is testing any theory or approach you have. If it gives a good response, then you can use it in a large project.It is difficult to say more as on our side we focus on PLAXIS functionality and not on design decisions.
