Hiee Komal Panchal here,
I'm new to Plaxis 3D. I have query regarding how to model soil nails/rock bolts used for stabilizing steep slope. I have currently modelled it as an embedded beam however I'm not sure about it as there is no option available for putting tensile capacity.
Also, I have modelled excavation enabling scheme with construction sequence, however my model is getting failed due to soil body collapse. Can someone please guide on how it can be overcome.

Hello Komal,
The tensile capacity is determined based on defined axial skin frictions and its length, 1/2L _rockbolt*(T_skin,start,max + T_skin,end ,max ), not a direct input parameter. You can find it more details in the Reference manual.
For the model failure, it is good to understand why it fails first before we adjust anything. To understand its behavior, please find outputs that should be checked in the link below that our colleague pointing out. Besides, you may also try to increase max unloading step in the Numerical control parameters.

If you need us to take a look your model, please raise a request here: https://bentleysystems.service-now.com/csp
Dear Hung,
Thanks for clarifying. I have checked the outputs for my model. I have tried changing soil model, stiffness and strength variation of soil as well as plate, local mesh refinement but still I'm facing problem of soil collapse.
Hi Komal,
So, please submit a request with the project to us using the link shown above.
