When I try to generate my mesh, I get this error:
"Cut object Polygon_1_Surface_5_1 has multiple source surfaces, but they have different local axes definitions: Polygon_1, Surface_5"
So i tried to change the lokal axes of the surface.
After some research, I found a tutorial that explains how to change the axis orientation from 'Automatic' to 'Manual'. However, it doesn't work when generating a tunnel using the 'Tunnel Designer' tool. The axes of individual surfaces cannot be adjusted. Can someone help me with this?
Dear Lisa,
Indeed, when surfaces overlap, they might have a different definition, resulting in different local axes orientations. PLAXIS needs to decide what to use for the calculation, thus the warning on the fact that these two surfaces have them different.
One action would be to check if you agree with the final decision PLAXIS made during the intersection. If you disagree, then you can change them in Structures mode.
You are right, though, that the Tunnel Designer will not allow you to change them as they are generated from the tool. Can you change the definition of the surface created outside the tunnel designer, though?
Dear Stefanos,
What exactly does the surface overlap here refer to ? Is there a good solution to this problem ?
