Hello!
In Plaxis 3D is possible to model a pinned connection between two plates (red line in capture below)?
Hello Stefanos,
Thank you for the solution. One more question remains for better efficiency, how do I easily get the numbering of the plates and how do I easily find out which one is in contact with which?
Hello Dan,
Sure, at PLAXIS you can use automation to enhance your experience.
You can either use the command line to create multiple connections, for instance, see how we copy & paste commands from a spreadsheet: Practical use of the commands runner: Pile field or automate this with Python: Create custom connection with selection API
Hi,
Thank you for your response.
Is there a quick way to apply multiple hinges at the same time? For example I have a model with 300 concrete slabs (4x4m) and defining the hinge is very time consuming.
Hi Dan,
In the Calculation modes it is possible to customize the connection between two plates by explicitly defining a Connection object. In this way it is possible to define line hinges. For more information, please refer to Chapter 7.11.4.1 (Connection between two plates) of the PLAXIS 3D - Reference manual.
