Good Morning Sir,
I am modelling my concrete using volume element in PLAXIS 3D. It is easier to get shear force and bending moment through this modelling. We can get the bending moment and shear force along the length of pile using cross section curve or center line which can be detected automatically. But in my case the bending moment and shear force are shown for a fraction of length of the pile. I am not sure what is the reason behind it. I need your help to resolve this problem. For better understanding I am attaching the Screenshot of the thing.
Hello Abhishek,Forces of both ends of a volume element are not supposed to be displayed in "Structural forces in volume piles" tool since stresses there are often not much accurate due to localization. If you expect to get forces along full length volume element, you may use a dummy beam, which has very small stiffness and the same diameter as the volume. Then you can extract the forces of the dummy beam and convert it to its real value. The dummy approach can be referred in the link below. Note that dummy beam or dummy plate is the same concept.Composite liner approach in PLAXIS 2D
Thank you sir. But this happens to some piles. I have got the shear force and bending moment for 3m pile to full length but not in the case of 4m pile.
I am not sure exact configurations in other cases but generally, forces at both ends are not displayed in the tool and the length of volume pile for force display is automatically created. So, you may try the other approach that suggested earlier.
Thank you sir
