At present, in a paper, I see that the author uses the solid element to model the tunnel lining, and seems to simulate the segment by adding the interface between the segment and the segment to divide a ring segment into several blocks. At the same time, the author uses the beam element to simulate the bolt connection between the segments. Is it feasible to do so ?In plaxis 3D, can or is it necessary to finely model the segment ?
Feasible, but too detailed to create a whole tunnel. Might be more feasible for local check. Can you share the paper name?

We have seen cases as such. The question is to be answered by you as the designer/engineer whether you want that level of detailing in your modelling. Typically when you build any simulation, you have a few questions to answer and based on these questions, you pick the best approach to get answers.
Note that a detailed 3D model can potentially increase the computational time and results processing without even thinking about the "oops, I made a small mistake - here we go again" situation.
