The interaction between the structure and the soil can be selected to be related to the nearby soil layer or user-defined.When I use a custom interface element, if I extract the earth pressure value on the interface element at this time, whether the earth pressure value has no connection with the soil outside the structure ( because the constitutive model and the value of c φ used in the custom interface are different from the soil directly in contact with the outside of the structure ).Is there a problem with my idea？
Hi xin Fang,The interface, whether it adopts the properties of the adjacent soil or you define them directly as a Custom material, will have certain stiffness and strength parameters. Therefore, based on those parameters, PLAXIS will calculate displacements and stresses for that interface.
