Hello,
I wanted to apply loads on the free field boundaries using line load for dynamic analysis. I also wanted to apply shear stress on the boundary elements. I don't find any material regarding the above questions.
Hi,
You shouldn't apply loads on boundary conditions in general, and for sure not on free field boundaries. I'm not sure what you would like to achieve by this, but I would suggest you check the Reference Manual on free fields boundaries to see what their purpose is and how they work.
With kind regards,

I am applying line displacements ion this boundary but it's not propagating I wanted. There is a geometric damping significantly. How to avoid this?

Hello
I am applying seismic loads.
You shouldn't apply any load on that boundary - it is incorrect. The seismic load should be applied on the bottom only.Either as a load, or as an acceleration. In the latter case you probably want to use a compliant base as bottom boundary.
Yes, you are right.
But you know Rayleigh waves travel from sides and bottom together. But it is giving wrong results. I don't know the way to apply Rayleigh waves. Can you please explain?
