How to measure uplift in a tunnel due to liquefaction in PLAXIS 2D?
Hi Manisha,
Uplift, be it in liquefaction or any other situation, can be evaluated by checking the displacement of the tunnel lining. For example, a positive displacement value would indicate a heaving behaviour. PLAXIS Output offers many tools to visualise and interpret the results effectively, such as arrow plots, contour plots and deformation plots, and you could always use the "Hints window" (found at the left side bar toolbar) to hover your mouse over a node and view the results of that point in a hint box.

thank you sir
Kindly help regarding this " I am applying input motion data at the base of the model with PGA as 0.349g, time = 34.96 sec. In PLAXIS I am using 40 sec and 4000 steps with subsets =1 as time step is of 0.01 sec. In the results it was observed (the node on the prescribed displacement) that PGA is less than applied. What should I do?"
I see that you have posted the same question here: Not able to simulate exact input motion data at the base of the model. To avoid duplicate answers, it's best to wait until your question is answered in that particular post you made.
okay sir
