Hi guys,
I'm trying to open the scripting reference or python interpreter in Plaxis (both 2D and 3D). But I got error message
and then my plaxis would just show
.
Any one could figure out what is it? I've used python scripting before with plaxis with other version of Plx and different laptop and had no problem. Does it have anything to do with the installation or? Thanks a lot for help in advance!
Hello Xuyan,
The error “No Python found” could be due to the fact that Python has not been installed properly or could also miss Registry keys. So, a simple way now is to uninstall and reinstall the program again (with a newly downloaded installer). If it still persists, just get back to us.
Hey thanks a lot for help! I did uninstall and reinstall plx from our company application download platform. But the probes was not solved. Same error message and when I checked ProgramData/Bentley/, there was no python installed. Does it have anything to do with me not downloading plx from Bentley website and install it using .exe? Or? Have you got other suggestions to fix this missing python problem? Thanks a lot!
Dear Xuyan Liu,
Correct. When companies use their own download platform, usually they scrap down our installer to just include the application of PLAXIS and nothing else.
Part of our installer is the PLAXIS Python distribution and its registry keys, and in your case, this part is not installed.
I recommend reaching out to your IT team and either ask them to install PLAXIS via Bentley's Software Downloads page: https://softwaredownloads.bentley.com/en/Home?Brand=PLAXIS
Or by following the instructions on How to create a deployment image for PLAXIS and use that as the installer.
Thank you so much! Then I have a clue where to start now
