I´d like to know how many m3 water gets through to the other side of a wall during a certain period of time. I have an embankment with a retaining wall and i´m doing a groundwater flow analysis. I have nice results regarding groundwater head, pore pressure, etc, but i doesn´t give me the "exact" quantity of water at the saved site in case of overflow/underflow. Is there any way to get this in Plaxis?
In 2D, users can create a line cross-sections at areas of interest. Then from the top Stresses menu select Groundwater flow. This would give flow results in (m/day units per unit area if day is the selected time unit) through the entire cross-section. Multiplying this flow value with the area will give you the discharge in m3/day.in 3D, the flow results are available in m3/day through cross-sections that extend to the model boundaries (as shown below). So to find out the discharge for specific areas of interest within the model boundaries such as finding out the flow passing above the wall or below the wall, there would be some engineering judgement and assumptions required to filter out the output results.
Thank you so much!
