Hi at everyone, i have some (more) problems with modelling of steel driven pile. (IPE200 in particular).
It's really easy to see and think about this model, but when i go in plaxis i find more difficult.
1) I need to model one single steel pile with Ipe200 section, under static and progressive steps of horizontal loadsI have add the geometry, the soil and the embedded beam parameters. I have set the staged construction with steps load.
2) But in all this step, i can't set a parameter that simulate the interface about soil and smooth steel pile.
3) I have easy condition, because dont have axial compressed force, so have only lateral resistence and no based resistence to set (it's right?)
I must model the interaction of the pile with soil (at vary of soils parameter under same loads), it's more easy and can't make it. I have test of this pile in local area, with results, but i can' replicate that for this problem.
For set of embededd beam i have insert equivalent inertial section, fot Tmax set 1*10^12 kN/m2, and layer dependent.I think that can control this inteface change Rinter only? (what is the vale can assign?) Any tips?
Dear Vicenzo,
It's not really clear how you modelled it, nor what results you got that are apparently different from what you expect.Since this is a very specific case, it's probably better to send in a service request through:https://bentleysystems.service-now.com/cspSo that one of our support engineers can have a look at it.
With kind regards,
Dennis Waterman
Hi Dennis Waterman ,can you at least explain to me how can i get Tmax and Fmax from this load Test?
I see, other question like this and i have link the load-pile test (1 vertical load test, 2 horizontal load test).
From the load test results as you present them you can't get Tmax and Fmax since the graph only shows the total bearing capacity (Tmax + Fmax). In order to know the individual values of Tmax and Fmax they should have been measured (for instance with an O-cell) or if you have for instance a CPT of the same site you can estimate Fmax from the CPT by using for instance the Method Koppejan or some variation on that method.
Dennis Waterman Therefore if i don't have this value (because they don't were measured) i can't set in the model and how can model? The vertical load it's a pull-out test, so based resistance (Fmax) don't should be? (only Tmax?)
If they weren't measured you have to make an educated guess. If the vertical load is a pull-out test then indeed the measured force is only skin friction.
