Hi, I am building the ELS model in Plaxis 3D.
I am wondering what form (beam, node to node anchor) should I apply for the strut, which required to preloading. (I think it should be node-node due to prestressing)
But there are 2 diagonal struts connected from the main strut to waling (See attachment), should I just ignore those?
if I ignore them, the wall deflection result should be larger than reality and the ground settlement will also be over-estimated...
Please help...
Regards,
William
Have anyone with this experience?
I think i would modify the element as below:
Am I right?
Thank you.
Seems the node to node anchor works.
Dear William,
Depending on the behaviour and interaction you need in your model, you can choose one of the two structural elements you mentioned (beam or node-to-node anchor).
Typically, as this is a design decision, the engineer needs to check which structural element will be the best option in each case.
Please check our Reference manual to better understand what each structural element offers in behaviour and results.
