I am doing a simulation for a geogrid-reinforced piled embankment using Plaxis3D. I encountered a problem when trying to get the tensile strain in the geogrid, but it seems that it cannot be done directly. How can we obtain the strain from the geogrid element?
ps : I created a surface and then assigned it as a geogrid.
Unfortunately, it is not possible to see the strain results in Output program. I am afraid you will need to compute them manually based on the current deformations.

Thanks Stefanos, I'v seen a lot of formulas to calculate the tensile strain, but I don't know which one to choose. Do you have any suggestions?
I am not sure to what formulas you refer to as a strain is a ratio of two lengths, i.e. change of length and initial length.
You can check by selecting two nodes and compute it using the deformation results against the original (undeformed size).
Thanks Stefanos, it appears that no matter adding the geogrids and without them, the settlement will not be changed. How could I add the geogrid correctly? I used the updated mesh option already.
We will need to check what is being modelled to be able to understand why the geogrids are not reducing the settlements.
