About a curved thermal boundary

Hi, I am currently try to use the PLAXIS Thermal 2D to build a thermal boundary for the tunnel interface.

However, it seems like the Polycurve inside PLAXIS is not able to create a thermal boundary for it.

Do you know if there is any other option that I could use?  If I just use the linear thermal boundary to represent the curved boundary as the figure below. It is not quite accuracy, right?

Looking forward to your kindly reply.  Thanks a million.

  • Hi

We can have two cases: the polycurve is part of a Tunnel or a separate polycurve you get e.g. after importing

Polycurve as part of a tunnel

If you have a tunnel, make sure to edit this one (can do done via the Model Explorer) and in the tunnel designer, then please go to the Properties tab, select the appropriate segments or sub-sections, then right-click on the elements and choose to Create thermal flow boundary condition

Polycurve not as part of a tunnel

If it is just a Polycurve (e.g. after import), go to the Model Explorer, find the Polycurve and select the main item. Here you can select the thermal flow boundary condition:
