Hi,
I am trying to get an average stress in a certain horizontal cross section instead of the Max., Min., and the contour. How can I get the average stress value?
Thank you
Dear Qian,
Indeed, in order to find an average stress, you will need to manually interpolate the provided values. PLAXIS offers the (raw) results on stress points as they are computed by the calculation kernel, but depending on the cross-section you need to perform the calculation manually.
Hi, Stefanos
Thank you for your answer.
But how should I manually interpolate in the 3D model? because when I extract the stress table, some of the nodes very close and even duplicated of the node as they are in the mesh boundary (I guess), so I think the weight of each value is not same and I can not simply average the value from the table.
I dun mind to manual calculated the average stress but I dun know how to calculate....
Dear Qian Tian,
You are right. I would recommend you checking our Scientific Manual for more information on the integration depending on the element type you have.
