Pseudo Static Analysis PLAXIS 2D

Dear all,

I was trying to perform a pseudo-static analysis but got a bit confused, my specific case was to compare this to a limit equilibrium analysis of a reinforced slope,

First doubt: When I applied a positive or negative acceleration in the x axis, the response was totally different from each other, the slope face in the model is towards the left, when positive the model doesn't reach convergence, when negative it does reach convergence,

Second doubt: In the case that I don't reach convergence is not possible to perform later a safety analysis so it is impossible to compare against a limit equilibrium,

I'd like to know if the purpose of a "pseudo-static" analysis in Plaxis has more to do with estimating a yield acceleration than a safety factor, and why the positive or negative sign leads to totally different results, in my case if I use a positive acceleration the model doesn't converge and the yield acceleration is well below the one I estimated in a limit equilibrum case,

Kindest regards,

Charles
