The last version of Plaxis (Connect), there is command as "create connection". With this command, what can we do? I want to model beam and pile with connection, what will be difference between using connection point and not? I tried both of this models for analysis, but i did not see any difference on results.
Dear Tolgahan Feyizoglu,
(just an idea from experience)
The "create connection" is used when you want to model a connection which is other than a fixed connection such pure hinge connection, plastic connection and so on. Therefore:
>> what will be difference between using connection point and not?
If you do not use it, you are considering a fixed/rigid connection between the pile and beam
>> I tried both of this models for analysis, but i did not see any difference on results.
In order to see a difference on the results you should introduce the type of connection. Try hinge connection. This might help to see the difference.
Note: the beam should be stable prior to starting the FEM simulation when hinge connection.

Thanks for your answer.
Dear Tolgahan,
Apart from the good comments from Shilton, did you try checking our reference manual?
Search for "custom connection" and you will get all the details about them, including the options available in the graphic user interface.
