Hi
I am trying to study the behavior of cyclic loadings on foundations. I want to plot a graph with the void ratio for all phases on the y axis and vertical effective stress for all phases on x axis. But when I select the axis options there are no options to select void ratio in total strain drop down for the node selected. I want to plot the results at the mid of the foundation base. I am using a medium mesh option as there are alot of phases and a finer mesh would drastically and painstakingly increase calculation time which I cant afford.
Kind regards
Osama
Dear Osama,
The void ratio (e) is included in the stress point results. Please select a stress point and you will see the option as shown below:
Thanks for reaching out. As you can see from the image there is no option to model the void ratio. I’m choosing the stress node that is directly below the footing centre. I have used the modified Cam clay model. And I have modelled the footing as a plate element. The soil is a soft clay with a 1.91 initial void ratio.
Regards
It is difficult to understand why you do not get the result type, but it might have to do with the selection of the stress point.
