Hi all;
I am currently in the middle of a research project for university, and am using PLAXIS's flow only analysis for FEA analysis of seepage scenarios.
I can output the groundwater flow and see individual arrows denoting these values in [m/day], but how can I determine the total flow through the 2D system [m3/day/m] in a similar way that a flow net determines total flow (using q=kH Nf/Nd)??
Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance.
PS I tried summing the |q| values in the groundwater flow table output however I am not sure if this is the correct approach?
Dear James Lee,
If you make a cross section on |q| plot results, you can see Total discharge in the title:
Thanks very much, this was very helpful! How about the cross-section of a tunnel ? How would I find the flow into the tunnel?
Dear James,
The cross-sections are drawn as lines. For curved geometries note that you can use the interfaces to measure the flow: (see all articles)communities.bentley.com/.../permeability-in-interfaces
